UPS South Atlantic District President Dwayne C. Meeks has worked for the company for 32 years.
Dwayne began his UPS career in 1982 as a part-time sorter in the Central Jersey District. At the time, he was pursing his degree in Business and Communications at Rutgers University. One year later Dwayne was promoted to the position of part-time supervisor in operations.
Dwayne worked as a full-time service provider (package car driver) from1985 until 1987.
In 1987, Dwayne was promoted to full-time supervisor for package operations.
In 1988, UPS promoted Dwayne to the position of hub manager. Beginning in 1988, Dwayne rotated throughout UPS operations serving in several capacities until his promotion to division manager in 1999.
In 2001, Dwayne accepted a lateral position in Seattle, WA. Just one year later Dwayne was assigned as a facilitator for UPS Corporate Training Schools in Neuss, Germany. In 2003, Dwayne was promoted to district manager of the Mid-South District.
Two years later Dwayne accepted the position as the district manager of the Virginia District.
Following his time in Virginia, Dwayne accepted the assignment as President of the Great Lakes District.
With his departure from the Great Lakes area, Dwayne was select to serve as the President of the South Atlantic District which includes responsibilities for all operations in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities Dwayne is very active in the communities in which he has worked. His various memberships included board positions with: Chambers of Commerce, The United Way, and The Urban League.
