Chandra Stephens-Albright is the Executive Director of C5 Georgia, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to inspire high-potential youth from risk-filled environments to pursue personal success, to prepare them for leadership roles in college, work and community, and to motivate them to become role models for others. C5 Georgia is a distinctly comprehensive leadership program that empowers motivated students to develop the confidence, and social emotional skills to make a positive impact on the world. Over the course of five years, beginning in 7th grade, C5 Georgia students embark on a structured journey of self-empowerment that prepares them to overcome challenges and become change agents for themselves and others. 100% of the students that complete the program graduate from high school, and over 95% of those are accepted into college, with 5% enlisting in the military. Since joining C5 Georgia in 2014, she has incorporated best practices from other C5 sites to improve program delivery, collaborated with local nonprofits to enhance program content, and increased foundation funding six-fold.
Prior to joining C5 Georgia, Chandra built a stellar reputation for building productive teams, exceeding expectations, and tackling tough challenges during 22 years with The Coca-Cola Company. Her crowning achievement there was leading the Marketing and Innovation functions for Coca-Cola Freestyle®, the high-tech proprietary fountain dispenser that launched in 2010. She was the part of the original team, created in 2005, that was charged with determining whether the technical concept had a viable business application. Her specific contributions included leading development of the Coca-Cola Freestyle® brand name, visual identity, launch market activation plan and initial social medial platforms. She also managed all primary consumer research and led development of the user interface visual design. Chandra joined Coca-Cola in 1991. Before joining Coca-Cola, she was a Product Manager at Clairol. Her career began at Bristol-Myers Squibb in the Bristol Myers International Group.
Chandra is currently serving on the Boards of Directors for the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, The Alliance Theatre, and the Georgia Charter School Association. She is also in her third term on the Emory Alumni Board, and served as National Chair of the Emory Annual Giving Board from 2009 to 2012. She was a charter member of the Emory College Alumni Board, serving from 2007 to 2010. She was a board member at Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta from 2001 – 2008 and served as Board Chair from 2004 to 2005. She is a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2005.
