La Novia Meuse is Vice President of Programs at Junior Achievement of Georgia where she is responsible for high school programming for students across metro Atlanta. Currently, she is focused on the launching the Junior Achievement Magnet Business Academy (JA-MBA) at Banneker High School. JA-MBA provides a full immersion curriculum that integrates business and leadership concepts into learning while focusing on entrepreneurial thinking and is set to open in August of 2015.
La Novia began her career in youth development designing service learning and after school programs for students. She has worked in youth development for the City of Atlanta, the 100 Black Men of America, Hands On Atlanta and the Points of Light Foundation. She served as Project Director for the “I Have a Dream”® Foundation with C5’s very own Ade Findley, where she developed and coordinated a comprehensive suite of academic and enrichment services for a group of students as they moved from 7th grade through college graduation.
La Novia holds a Bachelors from Florida A.M. University and Masters in Youth Development Leadership from Clemson University. She’s an avid reader, enjoys hiking, and “throws” pots for fun.
