Hello, and welcome to the C5 Georgia Youth Foundation blog, and our first blog post! This is where we’ll share the best of what’s happening at C5 Georgia, with our program, our students and our special events. We’re excited to bring you along as we Live to Lead 365 days a year, so, let’s get started!

On May 12, we sent our class of 2014 off into the world with a celebration ten years in the making—the C5 Evening With Graduates. It was a fun night full of scholarship awards, great guest speakers (like DeMarco Morgan from 11Alive), and moving trips down memory lane. It also raised more than $150K for C5 Georgia, which is just one reason we consider graduation much more like the passing of a torch than the ending of an era.

All that celebration? It helps support our mission to make high school graduation a reality for all Georgia students, especially those from challenging situations. Also, while every year is special for our graduating class, this year was extra exciting, as it rings in our 10th year and signifies our first class of C5 Georgia students to graduate from college. Congrats go out to our alumni, too.

To finish things off, we’d like to acknowledge all of our graduates briefly. They’re in full summer-vacation mode and are looking forward to becoming freshman at their respective colleges right now, so take a moment to scan through the list and give each student on it a virtual high-five. Pay special attention to the extra, exciting factoids we’ve added in parenthesis. We just couldn’t contain our enthusiasm.
