C5 student Sanjana Reddy may have just completed her first summer in our program, but she’s already well on her way to becoming a leader and influencer. While most kids consider summer break a chance to relax or perhaps even get ahead for the coming school year, Reddy, 12, spent the first half of her summer vacation helping ensure 100 African children are equipped to receive an education.
Inspired by the Open Hand Foundation’s Crocs 4 Kids program, Sanjana challenged herself to raise enough money to buy 100 pairs of Crocs to send to underserved children in Africa, where shoes are a prerequisite to entering school, but often a luxury. Rather than ask friends and family for donations, however, the industrious pre-teen hand-made bracelets and personalized picture frames to sell, then used the money to purchase the shoes.
We’re so proud of Sanjana for her hard work and creativity and can’t wait to see what else she’ll achieve as she continues to Live to Lead with C5 Georgia.
